| So much to say I don't know where to start.
Let me start with this. I have 14 kids. I am a 22 year old with 14 kids.
No, I'm not crazy, and I didn;t start early, in fact, I've acquired 14 kids in 3 months.
I work in an orphanage. No, these aren't my kids really. But they are my kids!!! MY KIDS!!! Who loves them. Who helps them with homework, changes thier diapers, fixes their MANY cuts, cries with them and for them. Prays with them and for them. ME! They are my kids.
I love my kids. I love them even when they are jerks. I love them when they are fighting over who gets to sit in my lap, or who gets to sit by me at dinner. I love them when they glare at me at 5:30 AM when I tell them to get up.
I love my kids!!! I hurt when my kids hurt. I am sad when they are sad. I am happy when they are happy. It's love.
Now I want to write a list about what I love about my life and my kids.
1. I love that Adam, 4, can say good morning, goodnight, and "no touche" better than some of his Spanish words.
2. I love that Adam greets me with a kiss EVERY time he sees me.
3. I love that Luis BEGS me to let him sit on my lap at every oppurtunity.
4. I love to hear my kids beg for what they want with a "Please Cathy, PLEASE!"
5. I love Maria's kisses.
6. I love Kati's hugs.
7. I love that the girls LOVE to borrow all of my clothes and hair accessories.
8. I love that when I go away some weekends, the girls watch me pack with frowns on thier faces.
9. I love that they ask me my opinion on boys, God, and clothes.
10. I love that Jhon will give me a hug every 5 seconds if I let him
11. I love that Leo trusts me enough to let me hug her when she cries.
12. I love that when their "parents" came to visit, they let me hold them and console them after their "parents" hurt them.
13. I love that I get to tell them I love you.
14. I love that I can't turn out the little girl's light without giving them bedtime kisses first.
15. I love that Cristian comes up and hugs me, then hits me (cuz it;s too cool for a teenager to hug :))
16. I love that Angel only lets me hug him.
17. I love that God put me here, in these kids lives and put them in mine.
These are the moments I know I need to savour, because they won't always be here, and neither will I. These are the moments I want to look back on and say, now that was the best time of my life!! These are the moments I want to remember forever. These are the kids I never want to let go.
I love Cristian, Leo, Gloria, Jhon, Kati, Jorge, Angel, Maria, Dayana, Fabian, Luis, Matthew, Adam, Carmen. I love 14 kids. I will also love 14 kids, even when they aren't in my life anymore.

| Ok, so I know it has been a while.... Let's see...I am here, living in Ecuador. It's wierd. Living in Ecuador. It makes me think A LOT about the beginning of my time in Scotland. Like, today I rode my first bus, all by myself. I remember riding my first bus all by myself in Scotland, it was a 20, and they like to take the "scenic route" to the centre, so I was SURE I was lost, in fact, so sure that I almost got off at a stop and crossed the street to get back on and go home. I laugh about that now, but hey, it's a memory. It also makes me think about what it's like to learn a new city all over again. Which reminds me of Alex giving us a map and making us go places all by ourselves. lol. So, I guess what I am trying to say is that Ecuador reminds me of Scotland in a very wierd kind of way, becuase they are NOTHING alike. The only common factor is me, lol. Things here are good---I stay SOOO busy. My day is from 530-830 or so, depending on the night. It makes me sooo EXHAUSTED. But, as Jerry puts it, a good exhausted. Anyway, I guess that is all my rambling for today. | | |
| Ok, so this is my news:I AM MOVING TO ECUADOR :).While down there, they asked me if I'd come back for a year to help. I of course said yes. So, I'm moving to Ecudaor :) The goal is to go in January. I'm really excited and happy that I get to do this :)Pray for me to get it all together before I go. | | |
| Well, I am here...and have been for 2 weeks and a bit....I LOVE IT!! These kids love me!!! It's been SOOOO great!!! :) I have more exciting news but I;m not ready to divulge to the world yet, so I will let you know in a week or so when I am ready to divulge!!!Cathy | | |

Yes what you read is correct. I am Ecuador bound. I am going in 2 weeks. I'll be staying for 3 weeks, then we'll see where God leads me. I am very excited, and a wee bit nervous as well. Pray please!
I will be working with an Orphanage down there. Pray for my patience, Spanish, mothering skills, COOKING Skills (yes, I need LOTS of help there) etc etc.
